3.10.1 Employers will give affected Employees and their job
stewards 4 hours notice of lay-off.
Four (4) hours pay may be given in lieu of notice.
3.10.2 Employers will not be required to give notice of
lay-off when equipment failure, shortage
of material, or other reasons beyond the control of the
Employer cause a stoppage of
operation.
3.10.3 Employers will notify CEP’s office of the names of
Employees laid off within the pay
period during which the lay-off occurred, together with the
Employee's classification and
latest available phone number.
